Measuring

We have enjoyed exploring measuring this week. We have used our super digging skills to dig up and measure worms using non standard units.

The children enjoyed using a ramp and pipe to see how far cars and vehicles travelled. Some children made a number line to measure which car went furthest by whose landed on the highest number.

The children have created pictures using long and short pieces of paper and looked at how different shapes can be made when the paper is not stuck flat.

During Funky Fingers, the children have explored long and short lines and used tweezers to add the jewelled beads onto them.

 

We have measured each other using string and have put these onto paper do that we can compare lengths and use yo find the tallest and shortest people in our group.

We made rules for measuring do that we make sure we are accurate and precise.
