We're going on a bear hunt

After our great trip to the theatre on Friday to watch 'We're going on a bear hunt', we went on our own bear hunt in our outside area.
"We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared".
Uh-oh, grass. Long wavy grass. We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it. Swishy swashy, swishy swashy..

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared"
Uh-oh, a river, a deep, cold river. We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it. Splash splash, splash splash.

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared".
Uh-oh, mud.Thick, oozy mud. We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it. Squelch, squirch, squelch, squirch.

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared".
Uh-oh, a forest. A dark, gloomy forest. We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it. Stumble, trip, stumble, trip...

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared".
Uh-oh, a snow storm. A swirling, whirling snow storm. We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it. Whoo, Ho, whoo, hoo...

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day. We're not scared".
Uh-oh, a cave. A narrow, gloomy cave.We can't go over it, we can't go under it. Oh no, we've got to go through it....

One shiny wet nose, two big furry ears, two big Google eyes...it's a bear!!!!!

Children in need

Last week we found out about Children In Need. We learnt about Pudsey bear and how he helps children who are less fortunate than ourselves by encouraging people to raise money.
We decided that we could help raise money by making things to sell.

Pudsey bear ears - adding 1 more/less than spots onto the ears.

Then printing a band to add the ears onto.

We made cakes using the balances, using an egg as a weight and balancing the ingredients against it before cracking the egg.

Making biscuits using different Numicon weights.

And decorating these with icing and spots!

Making Pudsey bookmarks

We made signs to show the things we had to sell.
And we managed to raise an amazing £66.46!! Well done Cherry class and your families. Your hard work paid off and will go a long way to helping Children In Need.

We also enjoyed a range of bear themed activities.
